About
Building AI that
actually ships.
I'm Ashkan Kardan — an AI software engineer who helps startups and small businesses build intelligent systems that go beyond demos and into production.
How I think about AI work
Most AI projects fail not because of bad models — they fail because nobody thought clearly about the problem, the data, or what "working" actually means. My job starts before I write a single line of code: understanding your users, your constraints, and what outcome would make this project genuinely valuable.
Production-first engineering
I build for deployment from day one. That means proper error handling, observability, cost controls, fallback logic, and documentation — not just a clever prototype that breaks in the real world. If I wouldn't run it in production myself, I wouldn't ship it to you.
Who I work with
I work best with early-stage startups that need a capable technical partner, and established small businesses that want to add real AI capabilities without hiring a full team. I'm not a good fit for large enterprises that need armies of consultants — I'm one person who does focused, high-quality work.
What drives me
I got into AI engineering because I believe intelligent software is genuinely transformative for small businesses — not just a buzzword. When an AI system I built saves a team 20 hours a week, or a chatbot handles inquiries that used to require three people, that's a real business impact. That's what I'm here to build.
